What information we collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us or that is required to keep the website secure and running.
Contact form
When you submit an enquiry through the contact form, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (if you provide it)
- What you’re looking for help with
- Details about your IT environment and any current issues
This information is sent by email to [email protected] and [email protected] so we can respond to your enquiry.
Email and other direct contact
If you email us directly or contact us by phone, we may collect the information you provide in that communication (for example your name, contact details and anything else you choose to share).
Technical information
When you visit the site, our hosting and security providers automatically receive some technical information, such as:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages visited and basic usage information
- Date and time of access
We use Cloudflare to protect the site from abuse and attacks. Their “Turnstile” widget on the contact form may collect additional technical data (such as IP address and browser characteristics) to determine whether a visitor is a real person.
We do not currently run advertising trackers or marketing analytics tools like Google Analytics.
Information we do not want you to send
Please do not send us:
- Passwords or login details
- Credit card numbers or bank account PINs
- Tax file numbers
- Sensitive personal information (for example health information) unless we specifically ask for it and you’re comfortable providing it
If we discover that we’re holding this type of information, we’ll delete or de-identify it where reasonably possible.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and follow up where needed
- Provide quotes or proposals you’ve asked for
- Maintain the security, reliability and performance of the website
- Meet any legal or regulatory obligations that apply to us
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
We do not use your information to build marketing profiles for third-party advertisers.
Where your data is stored and who we share it with
Your data may be processed and stored by:
- Microsoft 365 – for our email ([email protected] and related mailboxes)
- Our web hosting provider – which stores server logs and site content
- Cloudflare – which sits in front of the site for DNS, performance and security
These providers act as our service partners. They may store data on servers located in Australia or overseas, depending on their infrastructure.
We may also disclose information if required by law, for example in response to a valid court order or request from a regulator.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiries: Emails and contact form submissions are generally kept so we have a record of past work and conversations, unless you ask us to delete them and we are not required to keep them for legal, tax or business-record reasons.
- Server and security logs: Typically retained for a limited period (for example, up to 12 months) to help us troubleshoot issues and maintain security. Exact retention can vary depending on our hosting and security providers.
We don’t keep personal information longer than we reasonably need it for these purposes.
Cookies
We use only basic cookies that are needed for the site to function and for security (for example, Cloudflare’s security cookies). We do not use cookies for advertising or behavioural tracking.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you choose to block cookies, some parts of the site may not work as intended.
Your rights
Subject to local law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct any information that is inaccurate or out of date
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need for business or legal purposes
To make a request, contact [email protected] and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be changed when we do. Significant changes may also be noted on our website.
